Veolia, the company contracted to collected waste in Tower Hamlets has reached an agreement with their staff meaning all future waste collection and street cleaning industrial action has been called off.
The disruption in recent weeks to waste collection has been frustrating for residents, with many of them taking to social media to show their anger and disappointment especially due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The build-up of rubbish is not acceptable and has led to frustration and anxiety for residents and businesses. The council ‘appreciate’ this.
The council have said that the majority of their crews out working and they will continue to work through scheduled collections running between Monday and Friday.

The council have said that they have suspended the separate collection of recycling, food waste and garden waste for the week with teams clearing all waste together. Bulky waste collections will remain suspended.
