named by police.

Officers were called at about 20:45hrs on Monday, 3 April to
reports of two men fighting in Parnell Road, E3.

Police and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene
and found an unconscious man. He was taken to an east London
hospital where he later died.

On Wednesday, 12 April, he was formally identified as Joseph
Davis, 68, of Bow E3.

His next-of-kin are aware.

A post-mortem examination on Wednesday, 5 April gave a
provisional cause of death as coronary and valvular heart
disease and generalised atherosclerosis.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command led by

altercation continued. Mr Davis then became unwell and
collapsed.

A 73-year-old man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of
grievous bodily harm and taken to an east London police
station.

He has been bailed to return on a date in early May pending
further enquiries.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the
altercation on the bus or in Parnell Road to come forward.
