Councillor Rabina Khan launched People’s Alliance of Tower Hamlets party election manifesto for the upcoming election.

Hundreds packed the Atrium venue for the public launch of the People’s Alliance at the Atrium venue in Bethnal Green last night.

Khan is running for mayor as well as re-election as ward member for Shadwell where she is popular with residents.

Mayoral candidate Rabina Khan promised a referendum to decide if Tower Hamlets should have an executive mayor if she gets elected to the office.

Rabina Khan was narrowly defeated in the 2015 mayoral election by Labour’s John Biggs.

The female councillor is backed by 32 prospective ward councillors hoping to form a People’s Alliance after May 3.
