In a shocking incident on the night of 3rd November 2023, a man in his 60s faced an unprovoked assault at Garden’s Food and Wine on Manchester Road, Isle of Dogs. The local police are appealing to the public to help identify the assailant, captured in an image released as part of the ongoing investigation.

The attack occurred late in the evening when the victim was knocked to the ground and subjected to racially motivated violence. Although the victim sustained minor injuries, the incident has left him deeply shaken.

PC Sean Wakem, a member of the local policing team in Tower Hamlets, expressed concern, stating, “This was an unprovoked attack that has left the victim incredibly shaken. We will not tolerate this kind of behaviour, and I’d ask anyone who recognises the man in the image to speak to us immediately.”

The police swiftly initiated an investigation, responding promptly to the distressing scene. CCTV footage from the shop was recovered, leading to the release of an image of a man the police wish to speak to in connection with the assault.

Those with relevant details are encouraged to contact the local police at 101, quoting CAD 5159/04Nov.
