Detectives from Tower Hamlets have issued a CCTV appeal for the public’s help in identifying two men they would like to speak to in connection with a serious assault that left a man with significant facial injuries.
On Saturday, 25 February at 1am, the 26-year-old victim was in a newsagents on East India Dock Road in Poplar.
He became involved in a brief verbal argument with a female customer before he was attacked by two men who were with her.
The men subjected the victim to a sustained assault inside the store – due to the severity of the assault, he needed metal plates inserted into in his face.
The first suspect is described as a white male, aged approximately 35-40, around 5″11 with greying hair. He was wearing a black jacket and a white t-shirt.
The second suspect is described as a white male, aged approximately 25-30, around 5″11 with short dark hair. He was wearing a navy jacket and black t-shirt.
Detective Constable Ashleigh Dumas, of Tower Hamlets police, said: “This was a vicious assault that left the victim with serious injuries. We are appealing for the public to help us in identifying who these suspects are.”
