Former Tower Hamlets FC and Crystal Palace winger Randell Williams has confirmed he’s set to sign a deal with Watford who play in the Premier League.

The youngster who transferred to the Eagles in 2015 was released this summer and had been a free agent.

Williams played 45 minutes for Watford’s U23 side in a pre-season friendly at Woking on Saturday and impressed.

Speaking exclusively to the Hertfordshire Mercury, Williams said that he hopes to wrap up a contract with Watford next week.

“I don’t know how many other offers I had initially, but the first thought in my head was to get another club following my release,” he said.

“I didn’t waste any time and got myself out there really with my agents, they got me a couple of trials and offers from clubs, but I thought Watford was the best club and decision for me.

“It is nice to stay with another Premier League squad. I hope to develop and push for a first team squad place, and if not then go out on loan and make a name for myself.

“I haven’t officially signed yet from Watford, I am still on trial but I have received an offer and hopefully I’ll be signing it by next week.

“I am happy to sign for Watford, it’s been great so far and hopefully that can continue throughout the year.”
