Celebrate 150 years of London Fire Brigade at Bethnal Green Fire Station open day

To celebrate 150 years of London Fire Brigade, Bethnal Green Fire Station are holding a family open day which is supported by Playmobil on 14 May 2016.

You will get a chance to meet your local fire fighters and life-sized Playmobil ones, see exciting fire and rescue demonstrations plus receive fire safety advice and enjoy toys and activities galore.

Visitors will be able to take a closer look at the firefighting equipment and children will be allowed on the back of one of the fire engine’s in the station’s yard to take pictures.

Other than firefighting, Bethnal Green crews are specialised in road traffic collisions, water rescue, collapsed buildings and other incidents that are not fire related.

The open day will feature a display of various fire rescue equipment used in these incidents, including cutting equipment, hazardous material and water rescue kit.

Fire crews will carry out a road traffic collision and line rescue demonstrations.

The station open day will take place on 14 May 2016 between 1100 and 1700 at Bethnal Green Fire Station, 11 Roman Road, London E2 0HU
