Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Bow have made four further arrests.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 16:29hrs on Saturday, 13 May, to reports of a seriously injured man in Eagling Close, E3.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the location, where the man was pronounced dead at 17:37hrs. He had been shot and stabbed.

Formal identification has now taken place and the victim has been identified as 41-year-old Brenton Roper. His next-of-kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination held on Tuesday, 16 May at Poplar Mortuary gave the cause of death as death as gunshot injuries.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

A 16-year-old boy [A] and an 18-year-old man [B] were arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday, 13 May and taken to east London police stations. They have both been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

On Saturday, 24 June, two 26-year-old men [C and D] and a 27-year-old man [E] were arrested on suspicion of murder. A 54-year-old man [F] was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All four remain in custody at a west London police station.
