Murder probe launched after man is found stabbed in Bethnal Green

Scotland Yard has tonight launched a murder investigation after the death of a man found repeatedly stabbed at a home in Nelson Gardens.

On Saturday Police and ambulance were called to reports a man with suffering stab wounds at a property in Nelson Gardens, Bethnal Green. A 26-year-old man was discovered with multiple stab injuries, he was taken to an East London hospital where he died at 3.36am on Sunday, 11th September.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as stab wounds.

Witnesses at the scene said that before the police arrived there was an argument which was intense.

The victim has yet to be formally identified but police believe they know who the man is and his next of kin have been informed.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

At the time of writing no arrests have been made.
