An appeal has been launched after a teenaged boy was stabbed inside a bakery

Police investigating the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in a bakery in Tower Hamlets are appealing for the public‘s help in identifying a man.

Officers were called to a bakery in Market Square, E14, at around 3pm on Saturday, 25 January.

A 16-year-old boy was approached by an unknown man who engaged him in conversation and then slashed at his arm with a Stanley knife. The man then ran away.

The teenager suffered an injury to his elbow, which required hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Luke Martinez, the investigating officer, said: “This was a shocking attack in the middle of the day in a busy area.

“I would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man pictured or has any information of his whereabouts.”
